All members of the numerous heart and lung transplant centres in the UK are automatically members of the BHLTA.

The Freeman hospital in Newcastle is where I had my heart transplant.   It is one of the leading transplant centres in the UK, and to everyone that works there - Thank You.

Heart Research

Heart Research gave me matching funding as a result of  'Gig 6'
for the 2005 World Transplant Games and helped with
2006 European Transplant Games

A heart beats on - written by Martin Burke

Irishman Martin Burke received his heart transplant in 1988.   His book was released on 28th September 2004.   His son Fergus wrote to me and asked if I would provide a link.    Delighted to do so Fergus.   I  bet you're proud of your dad:    You should be!

Great Britain Transplant Cricket Club
(GBTCC)

Newly formed in 2004, we played and lost the inaugural
 David Hookes Memorial Tour.

The Aussies toured England (and lost) in July  2006
I am proud to be a founder member, player and a committee member of GBTCC.

GBTCC will defend the trophy in Australia in 2008

The David Hookes Foundation

The awful tragedy which overtook David Hookes led to an idea that will perpetuate his memory in the most positive way.

Harefield Transplant Club

This sports and social club was set up by heart recipients from the world famous Harefield Hospital.   They have become friends and rivals over the years at the Transplant Games.   I am happy to recommend a visit to this excellent site.
