It is official, the Wombats have arrived on Tyneside to defend the David Hookes Memorial Shield that they won in Australia in 2004.
Playing conditions

4th July - 9am - Tour of The House of Commons.
Meeting with Evan Harris MP in Portcullis House, Westminster.
Evening - Surrey v Sussex: Twenty20 match - The Oval

5th July - 11am Tour of Lord's -  view The Ashes Urn and burst into tears.

Stay in London

7th or 8th July - travel to Newcastle

9th July - First Test, day one  - Percy Main Cricket Club.

9th July - World Cup Final (KO 7pm) Pie & Pea supper at PMCC.

10th July -First Test, day two.

11th July - rest day.  
AGM of GBTCC @ 10am in Caravan #1.

12th July - First ODI - Jesmond Cricket Club.

13th July - rest day.   
Official welcome and buffet by Chair of North Tyneside Council, Mrs Shirley Mortimer.
4pm - The Parks Leisure Centre - North Shields.

14th July - Second ODI - Tynemouth Cricket Club.

15th July - travel to Bath

16th July - Third ODI - Monkton Combe CC Bath.

18th July - Second Test, day one - Hinton Charterhouse CC.

19th July - End of Tour Dinner and presentations.

We now have two squads for each leg of the Tour and shall be entertaining Australia's finest on Tyneside and Bath.

The only criteria to be eligible is that you have received an organ transplant and can satisfy the medics that you are fit enough to play.

The tour will be in Tynemouth (NE England)  & Bath (SW England)
Bring sun tan lotion, surf board and golf clubs.

Tynemouth Cricket Club, venue for ODI on 14th July 2006, has it's own website.

Tynemouth CC are to be the subject of a Sky Sports documentary this season and will be featured regularly on the cricket coverage during the course of the season which will show life inside a Premier League Club.

For anyone wanting to visit one of the world's best 'party' cities, Newcastle is a 15 minute drive away,  a £10 taxi ride or take a trip on the metro to the Toon and see visit the quayside with it's pubs and clubs, the Baltic Arts Centre, The Sage building and marvel at the Millennium and Tyne bridges.

The Toon has just been named as 'the liveliest city in Britain for a night on the town', by the Rough Guide.
