Once again I am having The Watts 'n' Whiffin Big Band to
provide the music. Led by keyboard player Les Watts and lead
guitarist Dave Whiffin the band also has a 3 piece brass section and
the sound they produce is excellent. If you want a sneak preview
of their play list, visit their website on
Bigband.

The comedian is Peter Brown, AKA Waldorf Statler. Peter was
a member of the legendary North East show band The Don Juan's and now does a
solo comedy act. He has agreed to appear and will have you
falling about laughing for the best part of an hour.

To compete in the transplant games whether they be
British/European or World events is an honour but it also costs money.
As you will probably have gathered if you have read a
little bit "About Me", I have always been involved in sport as an
official/administrator or competitor and am therefore used to doing my fair
share of fundraising. There is more to playing football than
kicking a ball about, there is more to playing golf than hitting a little
ball into a hole and there is more to playing badminton than hitting
your shuttlecock over a net.
I have been attending or organising fundraising events
around my sport or 'Boys' Club since I can remember. It is
something that is now second nature to me, so if it has to be done you may
as well have fun doing it.

The coming year 2005 could prove to be a costly year in
terms of competing in authorised sporting events.
|
 |
There is The World Transplant Games in London, Ontario ,
Canada.
|
 |
The British Transplant Games in Loughborough.
|
 |
The Golden Glove golf competition at Royal Musselburgh.
|
 |
There is also a very strong possibility of some cricket
matches taking place. The newly formed Great Britain
Transplant Cricket Club (GBTCC) are hoping to play one or two matches next
season.
|
 |
I also need to attend meetings on behalf of the GBTCC and
will have to meet up for training sessions with the GB&NI Transplant team.
|
 |
That is a list of engagements, so far, that I am
aware of as at January 2005.
|
 |
As always if I manage to raise more funds than I need, I
will donate the surplus to the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association
(see above).
|
 |
I gave the FHLTA £750 and Heart Research UK, on my
behalf, have matched that total and given the other £750 to the TSAGB.
