 Details of Gig 9

Thank you to everyone who supported me on the night.   I have not only been able to cover a lot of my accomodation costs for the packed sports itinerary listed below but am also making a donation of £250 to the FHLTA which is fantastic news considering how far and wide I shall be travelling.

As you will probably have gathered if you have read a little bit "About Me", I have always been involved in sport as an official / administrator or competitor and am therefore used to doing my fair share of fundraising.   There is more to playing football than kicking a ball about, more to playing golf than hitting a little ball into a hole and more to playing badminton than hitting your shuttlecock over a net.

The money raised from Gig 9 will help me to compete in loads of transplant sports events in 2008 which include:

bullet

The Golden Glove Golf tournament - Royal Musselburgh

bullet

Cricket tour with GBTCC - Somerset

bullet

The Five Nations Golf tournament - Forest Pines, Lincs.

bullet

12th European Heart & Lung Transplant Games - Vichy, France.

bullet

GBTCC v The Barmy Army CC - Stanmore, Middlesex.

bullet

31st British Transplant Games - Sheffield

bullet

David Hookes Memorial Shield cricket:    GBTCC v ATCC - Australia.

bullet

Australian Transplant Games - Perth, WA.

Any surplus funds will be donated to the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association, FHLTA.   Registered Charity number 700730.

I was able to make a donation of £250 to the FHLTA which, considering the above itinerary, is fantastic.    Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

As you will see there are lots of events which are all very high profile and help raise the awareness of the donor programme and encourage more people to sign up to the Donor Register.

Thank you.   Make sure you tell your family of your wishes.

I have been attending or organising fundraising events around my sports or 'Boys' Club' since I can remember.   It is something that is now second nature to me, so if it has to be done you may as well have fun doing it.

Update on Gig 8:

Another very successful fundraiser, thanks to all of my loyal supporters.

I was able to present a cheque for £1,574.00
to Barbara Harpham, national director of Heart Research UK.

Thank You to everyone for your support.

I look forward to seeing you all at Gig 9, above.
